December 2011 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing broker representing the owner Burlington R. Associates LLC in the sales transaction of 716 Pine Street in Burlington, VT. The buyer, James Edward Company LLC plans to renovate the 32,000 SF facility and use it for additional manufacturing for Lake Champlain Chocolates. Doug Nedde of Redstone participated in the transaction. December 2011 - As part of our annual holiday corporate gift giving program, Redstone generously contributed to the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) and the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf (CEFS). COTS provides many great services to Vermonters including emergency shelters, homelessness prevention, housing and support programs. The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf works to alleviate hunger in Chittenden County providing food and creating opportunities for individuals in need. As the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, CEFS serves over 11,300 people each year. December 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the seller, 2659 Shelburne Road, LLC, in the sale of their 8,000 SF commercial condominium located at 2659 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT. Yee also procured the buyer, Route 7 Liquor & Deli, LLC, who leased the property back in November of 2010. They have made significant changes to the Deli by adding a 1,000 +/- gallon lobster and clam tank and boosting sales tremendously. The buyers who relocated to Shelburne from Maine a few years ago had the advantage of knowing the lobster/seafood market. They have been making almost daily runs to Maine for fresh seafood to accommodate the demand for their product. The buyers have also begun to add fresh fish to their growing seafood business. December 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the seller, Rob Minichiello, of the restaurant assets, equipment, and leasehold improvements located at 61 Main Street, Burlington, VT. Yee procured the buyers, Maji Chien and Max Mackinnon, and assisted in the execution of a new lease with the landlord. On December 2nd, 2011, Maji and Max opened Pistou Restaurant which is located on the corner of Main and South Champlain Streets in Burlington. Pistou is a small restaurant and specialty foods market serving casual food throughout the day with open seating. December 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Burlington Moose Lodge #1618 in the sale of their building located on 30 West Canal Street in Winooski, VT. Yee also procured the purchaser, Cambridge Development Corp., the parent company of the Woolen Mill Apartments, who owns the property abutting 3 sides of the parcel. November 2011 - Linda I. Letourneau was the winner of the iPad 2 drawing which was as part of our United Way "Thanks & Giving" campaign. Congratulations Linda!
November 2011 - Redstone had a banner year for its annual "Thanks for Giving" United Way Campaign.  The Redstone team raised $11,710 through a "Dollar A Day" pledge program.  Redstone raffled off an iPad 2 as an incentive for those who contributed to this year's campaign.  Linda I. November 2011 - Combat Fitness MMA has leased a 5,000 SF unit from Hillside Properties at 276 East Allen Street in Winooski, VT. Duncan Harris of Redstone assisted both parties in the transaction.

October 2011 - "The Winooski City Council has agreed to work with developers Redstone/Youkel to build on two downtown Winooski lots that were to have housed condominiums. The condominiums were never built due to a soft housing market, the original developer said.

This month, the council heard two development proposals for the eastern end of the city's downtown.

One proposal, from Charlotte-based Grand Senior Living, would bring a 175-unit senior living complex to the site. Some of the units would be for seniors living independently, while others would house people who want assisted living arrangements. Some other units would house elders with memory loss and dementia.

The plan offered by Doug Nedde of Redstone Commercial Group and architect Alain Youkel would bring high-end rental units and a midrise building with condominiums or a hotel..."

October 2011 - "Hinesburg Selectboard adopts permanent zoning for former Saputo property."

“The Hinesburg Selectboard has adopted zoning regulations for the former Saputo cheese plant property. The new rules replace interim zoning that has regulated the site for nearly two years.

With a goal of enhancing the potential for business and residential uses by creating a mixed-use designation instead of strictly industrial, the interim zoning helped to enable development by Redstone, a Burlington-based commercial development and construction firm that completed purchase of the property in September 2010.”

September 2011 - Hannah Lyford joined the Redstone team in September 2011 as a Leasing Professional and Property Manager for Redstone Lofts, Lofts, the independent on-campus student housing project at UVM scheduled for completion in summer 2012. Hannah brings over 10 years of experience and knowledge in the field of property management. Her career began in Connecticut with Windsor Property Management where she was employed as a residential Property Manager. In 2006 Hannah returned to her native Vermont and continued her career as a Commercial Property Manager where she managed a diverse portfolio in Chittenden County and the surrounding areas. Hannah earned her degree from Plymouth State College studying Early Childhood Development and Social Work. She and her partner, Bruce, are the proud parents of two boys. As an outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys running marathons, skiing, hiking, golf, and soccer, and is also passionate about travel, gardening and cooking.
September 2011 - Lance Jennings joined the Redstone Property Management team in September 2011 as Property Manager Assistant and Lease Administrator. Lance attended the University of Vermont for his undergraduate and graduate years and will nearly complete his master’s program in Public Administration. Lance enjoys outdoor recreation from mountain biking, sailing, skiing, and hunting. Lance has an extensive knowledge in computer applications and will be an integral part in maintaining and improving property management systems. Lance lives in downtown Burlington along with his girlfriend and their dog, Bristol.
September 2011 - Elizabeth Adelman joined Redstone in September 2011 as Receptionist. She comes to Redstone with a Bachelors of Arts in English from Skidmore College, located in Saratoga Springs, NY. Elizabeth has experience in the accounting/bookkeeping field, bringing further assistance to the financial team here at Redstone. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, hiking, writing, and going on her daily jog around town.

Harris of Redstone was the leasing agent for Vermont Smoke and Cure in the successful lease of 37,000 SF of food production space located at 10516 Route 116, Hinesburg, VT (the former Saputo Cheese Plant). August 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the landlord, CH Partners, LLC in the successful lease to Queen City Fitness, LLC, represented by Jed Dousevicz of VT Commercial. The 3,750 SF space located at 7 Fayette Drive in South Burlington, VT is going to be an all women’s gym.  
August 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the seller, Landvisions Plus, LLC, in the marketing and sale of a 5-unit commercial building located at 147 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington, VT. The purchaser was Farrell Vermont, LLC. The 100% occupied building consists of 4 residential units and one commercial space leased to Farrah’s Middle Eastern Foods.  
July 2011 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Max and Susan Eaton in the lease of a 6,000 SF building at 1232 Exchange Street in Middlebury, VT to Peter and Naomi Neff. Peter and Naomi will open Whirlie’s World, an indoor family entertainment center. Their goal is to create a safe, fun space for the young and young at heart. Whirlie’s World will have a 13-hole glow in the dark miniature golf course, bounce houses, arcade games, pool tables, air hockey, concession stand, birthday parties, free wireless internet, teen dances, and a video gaming room with Nintendo Wii and X-Box 360 games. July 2011 - Redstone Lofts, the independent on-campus student apartment project at UVM, was featured in the July 22, 2011 New England Real Estate Journal in the Green Buildings section as the "Project of the Month".
July 2011 - Ross Montgomery of Redstone leased a small office suite located at the Shelburne Inn at 5247 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, VT to Sleeping Well, LLC. Ross Montgomery represented the tenant, and Doug Nedde of Redstone represented the Landlord in the transaction.  
July 2011 - Duncan S. Harris of Redstone and Yves Bradley of Pomerleau Real Estate represented Cheryl and J.D. DeVos of Green Mountain Organic Creamery in the successful lease of 10,000 SF of food production space located at 10516 Route 116, Hinesburg, VT (the former Saputo Cheese Plant) owned by Catamount/Malone-Hinesburg LLC. June 2011 - The 21st annual Bob Aldrich Memorial Golf Invitational was held on Monday, June 27, a beautiful sunny day at the Burlington Country Club. This sold out event raised over $25,000 for the King Street Center with participation from over 132 area golfers and the support of gold event sponsors Redstone, Fair Point Communications and People’s United Bank.

Money raised from this event will support the King Street Center’s academic programs throughout the year. The King Street Center serves more than 500 children and families in the Burlington area.

Many thanks to the King Street Center staff and all of the volunteers, golfers, and sponsors who contributed to this successful event.  We hope to see you all again next year!

June 2011 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Foster Real Estate Development in the lease of 3,400 SF of office space in Middlebury. Duncan procured the tenant, UVM Extension Services.  
June 2011 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented Dr. Heather Diederich in the search for new office space. Dr. Diederich has been practicing in the same location on St. Paul Street for 14 years and has decided to move her practice to South Burlington. She will look to make the move on August 1st. After careful consideration she decided on 368 Dorset Street for its medical campus feel, convenient location, more than ample parking for her patients, and reasonable landlord. If you are looking for a great Chiropractor, Heather is wonderful. She plans to add massage and possibly an acupuncturist to her newly renovated office space. June 2011 - Redstone is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Casey as the Director of our Property Management Team.

Kevin Casey has always had an interest in real estate, architecture and urban planning. After graduating from the University of Buffalo in 1996 he pursued his graduate work in Urban Planning with a focus on historic preservation at The University of Buffalo School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Kevin moved to Vermont from Buffalo in 2005 and worked for Montpelier Property Management and became an integral part of the Montpelier community, managing a wide range of residential and commercial properties. Kevin resides in Montpelier with his partner Selene and his two year old son.
June 2011 - Rick Davis, owner of 10 Farrell Street in South Burlington, VT, is pleased to welcome Close to Home to their new retail/showroom location at 10 Farrell Street. June 2011 - Redstone Breaks Ground on Independent On-campus Student Apartment Project at UVM

Redstone held a ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 for Redstone Lofts, an independent on-campus student apartment project at the University of Vermont.

In the spring of 2010 UVM awarded Redstone with the opportunity to develop and manage the project on the UVM campus under a long-term ground lease.

The project is located between the Redstone Campus and the Gutterson athletic facilities. The project, which will house UVM juniors, seniors, and graduate students, consists of one building with two connected four to five story wings housing approximately 143 studio, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, and features a variety of amenities including study rooms, a theatre/media center, fitness facilities, game room, and outdoor gathering space. Redstone Lofts is designed to achieve LEED-Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The Redstone Lofts project team and contributors are: YOUKEL [architecture . placemaking . development strategies], DEW Construction Corp., Krebs and Lansing Consulting Engineers, Inc., H. Keith Wagner Partnership, Pearson & Associates Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Hardy Structural Engineering, LLC, Murphy Sullivan Kronk, People’s United Bank, Catamount Student Housing, LLC, and the University of Vermont.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2012, and ready for occupancy for the 2012-2013 school year.

May 2011 - Peter Yee represented the landlord, PCH Corporation, in the leasing of their 6,000 SF +/- liquor store/deli located at 2659 Shelburne Road in Shelburne, VT. Yee procured the tenant, Susan Garcia from Maine, who has made some significant improvements to the store by adding a huge lobster tank, hiring a great pizza/deli chef, and filling the store with inventory so you can get everything you need at a convenient location. Susan and her husband Chris are working on completing the purchase of the property which was an option that was worked into the lease as well. April 2011 - Duncan S. Harris of Redstone represented the National Bank of Middlebury in the sale of 3046 Case Street in Middlebury, VT. This former Specialty Filaments property consists of 60 acres and approximately 100,000 SF of industrial and office space. Duncan procured the buyer, New England Quality Service. NEQS plans to use the building for automobile disassembly and recycling.  
April 2011 - After years of practicing law in a joint practice in Burlington, VT, David C. Buran PC, is going out on his own and moving to Colchester’s State designated growth center. January 2011 - Kim Norland joined the Redstone team as CFO/ Controller in late December 2010. With over 20 years experience in finance, management, and systems, she brings a diverse knowledge of business practices to Redstone. With a B.S. degree in Accounting, Kim has combined her education and experience, to help businesses streamline their procedures and increase efficiencies. As CFO, Kim is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting of the various Redstone companies. When not at Redstone, Kim enjoys skiing, kayaking, baking bread and knitting. She resides in Starksboro with her husband Bill and their four teenage children.

Originally from Connecticut, Jeff moved to Vermont in 1999 where he attended Johnson State College.  Jeff has 6 years experience in commercial and residential property management in the Stowe, Vermont area.  An avid skier and golfer, Jeff also plays lead guitar in the band Conscious Roots.
