2009 Company News

 

December 2009 - Redstone rallied the troops for our United Way “Catch the Spirit of Giving” 2009 campaign, raising $6,776 in pledges, an increase of 85% over our 2008 campaign!  The money contributed to the United Way of Chittenden County is invested within the local community through 70 on-going programs and issue-specific initiatives in collaboration with more than 36 member agencies and numerous community partners.  Pictured from left to right: John Cronin (United Way Campaign Manager), Stacey Lax (Redstone Marketing Director & Keyperson), Cindy Elcan (United Way Communications & Development Associate).  
December 2009 - As part of our annual holiday gift program, Redstone generously contributed to the Committee on Temporary Shelter (COTS) and the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.  COTS provides many great services to Vermonters including emergency shelters, homelessness prevention, housing and support programs.  The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf works to alleviate hunger in Chittenden County providing food and creating opportunities for individuals in need.  As the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, CEFS serves over 11,300 people each year.  Pictured from left to right: Stacey Lax (Redstone Marketing Director), Kim Borsavage (COTS Director of Development).  
December 2009 - Redstone employees provided "Christmas" for several Vermont families.  After receiving an amount of money from owners Doug Nedde and Larry Williams, Redstone employees teamed up together and purchased items which were on lists provided by the children in the Vermont Children’s Aid Society. Once all of the presents were purchased, Redstone gathered for an evening gift wrap party. Shortly thereafter the presents were bundled together and transported to VCAS for the children to enjoy.
December 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Correct Care Solutions in the lease of 3,400 SF of office space in Waterbury.  Correct Care Solutions has been hired by the State of Vermont Department of Corrections to provide medical services to Vermont’s jails and will occupy space adjacent to the State’s campus.  Duncan procured the space in the Carriage House located at 89 Main Street.  

December 2009 - Doug Nedde of Redstone was the listing agent for the seller VF Partnership and Peter Yee of Redstone procured the buyer, J&J Properties of Vermont, in the sale of 34 Blair Park Road, Williston, a 24,500 SF mixed used commercial building on 3.49 acres currently 100% occupied with tenants (United States Post Office, Dubois & King, Idearc Media, and Microwire Transmissions Systems Inc.).  Redstone Property Management division will continue to manage the property for the new owners.  Pictured from left to right:  Tommy Chang (J&J), Peter Yee (Redstone), Jimmy Zhang (J&J), and Robert Maynes (TD Bank)

Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing the Haigh Mill Associates LLC in the lease transaction of medical office space located at 112 Lake Street to Adirondack Audiology Associates directed by Keith P. November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing Stern Properties LLC in the lease of an office suite located at 174 Battery Street in downtown Burlington, VT to Asa Turner.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone provided brokerage consulting services to HVM Corporation regarding an office building located at 109 Main Street in St Albans, VT.  

November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone provided brokerage consulting services to HVM Corporation regarding their corporate headquarters located at 140 Kennedy Drive in South Burlington, VT.

 
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing Catamount Holding Company in the lease transaction of a small office to Omer Alicic located at One Mill Street in Burlington, known as the Chace Mill. Omer is a partner of General Handiman Services.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing the Maltex Partnership in the lease of 2,075 SF of flex space known as Suite #120 at the Maltex Building.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau and David Jacobs of Redstone were the listing and selling brokers representing Stairs Unlimited in the sale transaction of approximately 7 acres of land and a 24,000 SF commercial/industrial building located at 484 Hardwood Hill Road in Richford, VT.  The purchaser is Maple Mountain Woodworks LLC.   The financing was funded by Peoples Trust and Granite State Development Corp.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone provided brokerage consulting services to Dr. Thomas Cavin regarding 54, 55 & 56 Timberlane Medical Center in South Burlington, VT.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the leasing broker representing the new hair salon called WhatsMomDoing.com located at 171 Battery Street in Burlington, VT.  Yves Bradley of Pomerleau Real Estate represented the landlord, Tarwood N.V.  Their grand opening is slated for November 28.  
November 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing broker representing Ninety Nine Swift Street Associates LLC in the lease transaction of 7,500 SF of medical space to Retina Eye Center of Vermont, Inc. at 99 Swift Street in South Burlington, VT.    
September 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone and Ingrid Jackson of Ingrid Jackson Real Estate co-exclusively represented the Frog Hollow Craft Association in the sale of 1 Mill Street in Middlebury. 1 Mill Street was the longtime home of the Frog Hollow Craft Center and its educational partner and a historical piece of downtown Middlebury. Ingrid procured the buyer, Edgewater Gallery. Edgewater Gallery is scheduled to be open by the holidays.  
September 2009 - As featured on the front page of the Burlington Free Press on Sunday, October 11th, the Bolton Valley wind tower is up and scheduled to be commissioned in November. September 2009 - 40 River Street, Milton, VT. Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Landlord, Michael and Danel Barrett, in the lease of their turn-key pizzeria. Peter also procured the tenant, Darren Solomon of NY Pizza Oven, who is excited to open his third location. Darren’s other locations are in Essex Junction and Colchester.  
September 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone procured the Tenant, Doug Walker, and Doug Nedde represented the Landlord, Catamount Holding Co., in the lease of 5,000 SF retail/warehouse/manufacturing space at 740 Marshall Avenue, Williston, VT. Doug Walker is a professional wood worker who has done mass production of cabinets, railings of condominium developments, and is looking to focus on the higher end wood products for condominium and home developers as well as individuals.  
September 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Seller, J&J Properties of Vermont, in the sale of their 22,500 SF mixed use commercial building at 7 Fayette Road, South Burlington, VT located behind McDonald’s on Shelburne Road. The sale included the building and a land lease with approximately 60 years remaining. Peter Yee also procured the Buyer, CH Partners LLC, who plans to do extensive renovations of the building including an elevator and entire face lift of the exterior. Contact Peter now for leasing opportunities currently available at this well located retail/office complex.  
September 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Landlord, Mountaha Handy, in the lease of 3,000 SF of prime retail space at 26 Hinesburg Road on the corner of Hinesburg Road and Williston Road in South Burlington, VT. Peter procured the tenant, Greg Reed and wife, Keum Sook Lee, dba His Hair and Hers. They have done extensive renovations to the former used appliance store and now offer massage, waxing, and facials in addition to their staple of great hair styles.

September 2009 - Redstone was proud to be a sponsor of the FJG Race to the top of Vermont event presented by the Catamount Trail Association!  Redstone's very own Larry Williams rode his bike to the top and did not stop to walk once!  Congratulations!

August 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing broker representing 10 & 2 Trust in the sale of a 7,700 SF +/- SF multi-tenant office building located at 174-176 Battery in Burlington VT to Stern Properties. Yves Bradley of Pomerleau Real Estate represented the buyer.  
August 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Neil Matthews in the sale of Neil and Otto’s Pizza Cellar in Middlebury. Neil purchased the business in 1996 and took a struggling operation and turned it into a Middlebury icon. Duncan procured the buyer, Paul Neri.  
August 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Harold and Rebecca Torre in the lease of 3,000 SF at 6 David Drive, Essex Junction. Duncan procured the tenant, Illumination Devices. Founded in 2006, Illumination Devices develops and manufactures energy efficient light modules using Solid-State Lighting technology (or LEDs). Light fixture manufacturers use these light modules in their products as a replacement for traditional light bulbs which consume 10-20 times more electricity than LED modules. August 2009 - Ross Montgomery of Redstone listed and leased 1,200 SF of retail space on North Main Street in Barre to Michael and Wendy Waggoner. Wendy is opening a new hot dog shop called Barre Dogs. Congratulations Waggoners!

August 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Commerce Commercial LLC in the lease of a 2,250 SF flex unit on Commerce Street in Williston to Quik Cab. Duncan procured the tenant who will use the space for storage and repair of livery vehicles.   
August 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented Sanel Auto Parts in the acquisition of a 6,000 SF commercial building on Exchange Street in Middlebury. Headquartered in Concord, NH, Sanel Auto Parts has developed a comprehensive program that enables their customers to prosper in today’s automotive aftermarket. Sanel Auto Parts will renovate the property for its sales and distribution business and then move from their current location on Seymour Street. Tim Eaton of Lang McLaughery Spera represented the Sellers.    
July 2009 - Ross S. Montgomery of Redstone leased 960 SF of space to Holly Rae Taylor, President and Founder of Waste Free Living, Inc, at Shelburne Inn in Shelburne. Holly is opening Home Ecology, a ‘green’ general store, and is thrilled about her new move.    
July 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone recently participated in the 15th Annual Addison County Chamber Scholarship Golf Tournament.  They had a very nice day on the golf course and the rain held off until the last group reached the 19th hole. The Chamber team of Andy Mayer, Frank Walch, Peter Crapo and Duncan finished third after a dutiful round played. Most importantly, the tournament, which is held annually, awarded a $4,000 scholarship to Dylan Newton of Middlebury. Dylan is a graduate of the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center and will be attending Clarkson University in the fall. Redstone was the Major Sponsor of the tournament.    
July 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone, representing the landlord 125 College Street LLC, listed and leased 119 College Street, the former Blue Plate Café, to Richard Than and his family who just opened the Saigon Bistro. The Saigon Bistro offers authentic Vietnamese Cuisine and is open 7 days a week from 10:30AM to 10:30 PM.  
July 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone was the listing agent representing the sellers, Roland and Lisa Gaujac, in the sale of their country inn, Roland’s Place 1796 House, located in New Haven, Vermont. The Historic building not only housed Roland, Lisa, and their 3 children, but three well decorated guest rooms, a full service restaurant, and a special events area that held weddings for over 200 people.  The new owners, Bill and Christine Snell, plan to continue the special events business as well as put their own spin on the restaurant.  Bill, Christine, and their 3 young children are excited to get out of the New York/New Jersey area where they owned 2 restaurants before deciding to move to Vermont.
June 2009 - Congratulations to the Redstone Development team who was one of four winners of the 2009 Smart Growth Award, presented by Smart Growth Vermont.  This was a joint award for The Hinds Lofts, King Street Housing and the Farrell project.  These beginning phases of the BankNorth Block project were nominated and chosen among a large pool of development plans and projects.  The team will be heading to the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes to accept this award on September 16th!  Congratulations everyone!
June 2009 - Ross S. Montgomery of Redstone leased 1,100 SF of space to Dr. David Pierson and his wife Jane Melrose in Shelburne Commons.  Dr. Pierson and Jane will be move their chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy practice from their home to their new office in Shelburne starting this July.  Pictured from left to right: Ross Montgomery, Jane Melrose, Dr. David Pierson
 
May 2009 - Redstone sponsored a team in the Greater Burlington Girls Soccer League in the Spring of 2009!  Due to Redstone's and others' support, the league was able to have 35 teams and over 400 girls participate!  
May 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone provided brokerage consulting services to Unifirst Corp regarding a 23,000 SF building located at Hebert Road in Williamstown, VT.  
May 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing broker representing Foster Real Estate Development, Inc. in the lease transaction of approximately 725 SF of office space at 7 Ambrose Place in Burlington, VT to Aurora North Software. The tenant was represented by Jed Dousevicz of VT Commercial.    
May 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and selling broker representing Gazo Construction, Inc. in the sale of a 2,000 SF stand alone commercial building on a 1.1 acre lot located at 5 Chrisemily Lane in Milton, VT. The buyer was DKRE, LLC.  
May 2009 - Ross S. Montgomery of Redstone listed and leased 2,535 SF of studio space to Alex Nagiba and the Vermont Ballet Theater School in Shelburne Commons in Shelburne, VT. May 2009 - Ross S. Montgomery of Redstone listed and leased 1,500 SF of retail space to Little Luna Blue children’s boutique, at 11 Falls Road in Shelburne, VT. May 2009 - Redstone participated in the City of Burlington's annual Green Up Day on Saturday, May 2nd.  The Redstone "green team" was assigned the clean-up zone of the Church Street, Pearl Street, Battery Street, Cherry Street block.  It was a perfectly sunny Spring day and a good time was had by all.  You'll definitely see us out again next year.  Pictured: Doug Nedde and sons Jaeger & Hans, Erik Hoekstra, Bruce Shepard, Bill & Beverly Everest.  (Not pictured: Stacey Lax)
April 2009 - Redstone Owners & Partners, Larry Williams and Doug Nedde, proudly accepted the Burlington Architectural Excellence Award for the Hall Block building at 210 College Street at the annual Burlington Business Association Dinner & Annual Meeting held on April 9th at the Sheraton Hotel. The award was created in honor of Hertzel Pasackow - "For a significant contribution to the physical or architectural quality of Burlington." The project was the renovation of the historic Hall Block, a 5 story brick commercial building in downtown Burlington.

The project was also awarded the 2002 Historic Preservation Award from the City of Burlington for the commercial restoration project that best serves the historical and architectural heritage of the Burlington community.

April 2009 - Peter Peter Yee of Redstone listed and leased 118 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, a stand alone restaurant, formerly a Chinese restaurant and prior to that Kentucky Fried Chicken. The tenants, Hanson Nguyen and Diem Ha, have opened Asian Cuisine Restaurant with inspiration from Southeast Asia, notably Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea. April 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented the Chittenden Solid Waste District in the lease of 3,200 SF of industrial space at 195 Flynn Avenue in Burlington, VT. Tim Burke of David G. White Associates procured the tenant, Vermont Woodworkers Unlimited.  
April 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone procured the tenant, Carpenter Motor Transport, located in Willstion, VT for the landlord, Catamount East Development Company, in the lease of 4,000 SF of warehouse space located at 948 Hercules Drive #02, Colchester, VT.  
April 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and selling broker representing the owner Ethan Allen Retail, Inc. of Danbury, CT in the sale transaction of a 82,226 SF manufacturing facility and 16 acres of land located at Route105 East, Ethan Allen Drive in Brighton (Island Pond), VT.  The buyer, Francis & Melanie Azur of Coraopolis, PA have plans to renovate and invest up to $10M and bring the idle plant back to life.  The newly formed company, Vermont Renewable Energy Company, will develop and operate a wood pellet processing plant, utilizing American made equipment and will employ up to 30 employees.  
Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone together with her client, Ethan Allen Retail, Inc. donated $3,000 to the Island Pond Public Library in Island Pond, VT.  The proceeds were part of the sale transaction of the former Ethan Allen furniture plant located in Island Pond, VT.  The donation is a contribution specifically for the Library’s Children’s Books Fund Campaign.  Pictured from left to right:  Michelle Wilcox (Assistant Librarian), Linda I Letourneau, and Lauren Mead.
 
April 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing 118 Pine Street Associates LLC in the lease of a small office at 118 Pine Street in Burlington, VT to Gwendolyn Lopez-Cohen, MD.  
April 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing Main Street Landing Company in the lease of a small office suite at the Wing Building located on Steele Street in Burlington, VT.  
March 2009 - Redstone is pleased to announce the addition of Ross Montgomery to the Redstone Brokerage Team. Ross joined Redstone in March 2009, specializing in buyer and seller representation and commercial leasing. He brings with him experience in sales and leasing and will focus on retail, industrial and multi-family properties.

 

 

 
March 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the selling broker representing Unifirst Corp and Rick Harrison of JL Davis Realty was the listing broker in the sale of a 15,000 SF stand alone facility at Highland Industrial Park, 30 Tigan Street in Winooski, VT.  Unifirst Corp recently renovated a portion of the property to accommodate for its growing sales and distribution fleet.  Collins General Contracting of South Burlington was the GC for the project.  
March 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone listed and sold Vermont Nanny Connection to Nicole LaBelle of Colchester. Seller, Dorilee LeBlanc needed to make room in her life for her baby boy, Anderson LeBlanc, born 3-31-09, which happens to be the day all the paperwork was signed! Congratulations to both Dorilee and Nicole!

March 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone listed and leased the former Lemon Grass Restaurant (4,100 SF) located at 2403 Shelburne Road in Shelburne, VT to Linda Lung and John Liew. Linda and John are moving to Chittenden County after many years of running a successful restaurant in Rutland. They plan to open up a slightly different concept under the same name, Kong Chow. John says he has a 70 year old family recipe for his signature dish, Chow Mein. March 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone represented GEIGER of Austria in the lease of 27,600 SF of manufacturing and office space to Durasol Awnings, Inc.  DAI was purchased in August 2008 by BAT, an Italian company with operations in Middletown, NY.  DAI plans to expand their current operations in Middlebury which required the move to the GEIGER facility at 38 Pond Lane in Middlebury.  Pictured from left to right: Tim Robinson, VP for DAI, Duncan, Gianfausto Abbatinali, President of DAI and Wolfgang Miska, Executive Vice President of GEIGER. 
 
   
February 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing and leasing broker representing the owner Williams Property Management of Shelburne in the lease transaction of approximately 1,625 SF warehouse space at 140 Webster Road in Shelburne to Thielsch Engineering of Cranston, RI.  
February 2009 - Together with her clients, Dan Morrissey & Kelli Lapan, Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone coordinated the efforts of donating work station cubicles to a non-profit entity The King Street Youth Center. The renovations to the staff offices also included the donated time of Tim Williams and staff of Exterus of Shelburne who assembled and delivered the work stations to the Center.
February 2009 - Doug Nedde of Redstone was the listing broker representing the owner 120 Kimball, LLC and Ross Montgomery of Hickok & Boardman Realty was the leasing broker in the lease transaction of approximately 2,756 SF of office space at 110 Kimball Avenue in South Burlington to Creative Results Inc. Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone helped facilitate the transaction.  
February 2009 - Doug Nedde and Peter Yee of Redstone worked together to sell 80-84 South Main Street, St. Albans, a 28-Unit HUD subsidized property catering to disabled and elderly tenants. February 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Landlord, Constantine Poulos in the leasing of approx. 500 SF in his building located at 4 Laurel Hill in South Burlington, VT. Peter Yee procured the tenant, local Attorney David Casier.  
February 2009 - Peter Yee of Redstone represented the Landlord, One Hundred Twenty Five College Street LLC, in the leasing of 1,900 SF of space to Lana Long, who intends to open a Vietnamese Noodle Restaurant in the former Blue Plate Café space.  
Januray 2009 - Linda I. Letourneau of Redstone was the listing broker representing Elizabeth Miller in the investment sale transaction of 370 Farrell Street, Unit 121. The purchaser was DCD Holdings LLC and was represented by Rob Foley of Flat Fee Real Estate. The closing was January 8, 2009.  
January 2009 - Duncan Harris of Redstone is pleased to announce the opening of Carolyn’s Red Balloon Enrichment Center at its new location in the Severance Corner Village Center in Colchester. Duncan represented Carolyn Riley, owner and director of the center, in the purchase of a 3,500 SF commercial unit from Severance Corner Village Center, LLC. SCVC is a planned mixed use development, soon to be designated as a growth center by the State of Vermont, in the heart of Colchester. At a recent Open House, Governor Douglas visited to speak with parents about the importance of having a modern, first rate program for early childhood development.
